Nick Karns

Associate Software Developer

Nick Karns’ journey into software began when he discovered Scratch as a child—a website offering endless possibilities through premade blocks of code. Hailing from the University of Michigan, Nick has now formalized his education and found software to be not only tools for creation but also a bridge to connecting with many different people.

While at U of M, he had the pleasure of playing the cymbals for the drumline of the Michigan Marching band—getting to participate in the Rose Bowl parade and 2024 National Championship game!

His decision to join Michigan Software Labs as an Associate Developer was driven by the company’s dynamic and flexible environment, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities. He’s grateful for the hybrid work schedule and variety of working locations throughout the office.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys contributing to communities within real-time strategy games. He also loves watching hockey and studying American history.
