MichiganLabs was hired by a local group to develop an Android application for one of the world’s largest construction equipment companies. The objective was to build a native Android application which would allow users in the field to streamline outdated processes.
The native app was designed with Android users in mind and had the look and feel of Android rather than iOS. The design process started by creating wireframes to test the user experience and ended with a clickable prototype. The designs received comments and ideas from users to ensure the final product would be easy to use.
Enterprise application development of this scale is based on user stories with a clearly defined sprint schedule. The goal is to be iterative in the process so as not to get too far without feedback. Rather than a waterfall approach, an agile approach provides the best alignment between the business stakeholders and the development team.
