Meet the Founders

Mark A. Johnson, MBA

Mark graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Hope College in 2006 and completed his Master’s in Business (M.B.A.) degree in 2009. Mark co-founded MichiganLabs with a foundational purpose of finding mobile solutions “for the rest of us.” Mark set out to help companies and organizations reach new customers and markets by making App development less intimidating and more accessible. Since launching the company in 2010, Apps created by MichiganLabs have been downloaded by users in more than 50 different countries around the world.

Mark and his wife live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with their young daughter.

Joshua W. Hulst, MCS

Josh graduated with a B.S. of Computer Science with Honors from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Michigan State University. As an accomplished programmer, Josh develops for iOS, Android, Blackberry and just about everything else. Josh is constantly staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and is interested in injecting quality into the software development process, especially by applying Agile techniques. Josh co-founded MichiganLabs to create mobile solutions for businesses and organizations through the use of his expertise in technology and his personal commitment to excellence.

Josh and his wife live in Ada, Michigan with their young daughter. Josh was nominated for young programmer of the year in 2012.
